Dan PrzybylskiDan Przybylski, M.A. is the current director of the Zumbro Education District’s Futures/CHOICE and Connections programs for students with E/BD and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dan has been working within the field of special education since 1977.  He has been a teacher, a team leader and director—where he served students in the Northeast Metro area. He also served as the director of the Wilder Foundation’s Residential Treatment services in Saint Paul from 1984–1991. Dan is the founding director and president of The Starry Night Collective.  “After nearly 30 years of serving students in restrictive educational settings, I have committed myself to the mission of bringing the arts to them. The arts open pathways of learning that are often overlooked and bring relief to children with E/BD.”

 

Lucy Pirner, M.S. is licensed in Minnesota as a Psychologist and in Wisconsin as a Professional Counselor.  Lucy has always had a penchant for helping challenged youth and working with children who display emotional and behavioral disorders. Lucy is a founding member of The Starry Night Collective and joined the effort with the knowledge that the arts are an answer to help these children be productive and happy members of our society.  She is excited and proud to be a part of an organization that will make a dramatic differenc.

 

Teresa McPherson is a SNC founding board member and a graduate of the College of St. Thomas with a B.A. in English. She is pleased to be a part of SNC and its mission to aid this population of students. Teresa lives in Minneapolis, and sells digital storage solutions for Rorke Data in Eden Prairie.

 

Bill DormanBill Dorman joined The Starry Night Collective as a volunteer in 2004 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2006.  Bill became involved with SNC because he likes to work with kids and has a soft spot for the underdog. He also owns Semantic Circuit, a Web consulting agency through which he has helped many companies and organizations to create engaging and effective Web experiences. Bill’s background includes marketing communications as well as writing and editing for publications ranging from literary magazines to international periodicals. He has taught creative writing at several institutions, including Southwestern Illinois College and Brainco—The Minneapolis School of Advertising, Design and Interactive Studies.                      

 

Lindsay GravesLindsay Graves works full time as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Burnet and devotes spare time to a variety of charitable and nonprofit organizations with an emphasis on positively impacting the lives of children.  As a former high school English teacher, Lindsay understands the necessity of tailored curriculum and student-specific teaching techniques to create favorable outcomes for the wide spectrum of learners.  It is a privilege for her to join The Starry Night Collective Board and work to better the lives of children living with E/BD.  A lifelong Minnesotan, Lindsay currently resides in Minneapolis with her husband, Ben, and their three children.           

           

Paul Pirner is a father, musician and writer, and a founding member of The Starry Night Collective. Born and raised in Minneapolis, he received his B.A. in English from the University of St. Thomas in 1994. He brings a life-long dedication to the arts and children’s issues to SNC, and is a proud member of the board of Directors. Paul lives in Minneapolis with his wife and two young sons.               

     

Karen Reibel Hanson is the Vice President of the SNC Board of Directors. She has been a member of the Board since SNC's inception in 2003. Karen lives in Minneapolis, MN with her husband, two young children and The Dog. She is a partner at the Lockridge Grindal Nauen P.L.L.P. law firm, also in Minneapolis, practicing in the area of complex commercial litigation
